Mission Driven Design

We are dedicated to working with clients to achieve their mission-driven goals.

Background

Whether a residential client committed to sustainable housing or a school trying to sneak in a bit of cultural awareness and art history with no budget or searching for space for another enrichment program, we work with the clients’ aspirations to realize their intentions.

Design Challenge

For non-profit institutions, budgetary limitations can be very real and demand creative solutions; we have facilitated pairing schools with cultural institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the New York Hall of Science to create programs to augment their curriculum and have worked hand-in-hand to fundraise for projects.

Design Strategy

Listening intently to both clients’ expectations and ambitions is critical to finding a solution that meets their timelines and budgets. Marrying small budgets and/or tight time line and the clients’ big dream is one of the exciting parts of our work. We believe in bringing all parties to the table and brainstorming and researching until our clients’ ideals can be brought into reality.

Impact

  • A school is able to have a little piece of art from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in their playground and introduce students to a famous artist who illustrated life in their neighborhood.

  • The Children’s Rights Project has protected 1.6 million children from abuse and neglect. The Partnership Schools educate over 2,300 students at their 9 schools. We believe that working with them to create inspiring environments for their staff facilitates the contributions that they make to all of our communities.

  • A high-end residential client realized that by customizing a sustainable net zero energy capable house in a compact development they can have a luxury lifestyle and be environmentally responsible at the same time.
